Mosleymeetswilcox meets Rock





			2004 Mixed media In 2004 Legendary Rock photographer Mick Rock was approached by mosleymeetswilcox (The partnership Dominic was part of before going solo) to make a collection of objects taking inspiration from his photos. Mick Rock is famous for iconic imagery of Lou Reed, Queen, David Bowie, Blondie, Iggy Pop and many more. The project developed into a collection of around 10 different pieces of work. Many of which are shown here. At the end of the exhibition called mosleymeetswilcox meets Rock, Paul Smith asked if mmw would do a Limited Edition version of plates, vases and table to be sold exclusively in his shops.







			Above are a set of six vases, by rotating the vases you can reveal four different photos of Lou Reed, Mick Jagger and David Bowie. To the left are some of the tables made on our custom made vacuum forming machine. A sheet of plastic is screen printed, then heated in an oven and stretched over four upturned wooden table legs to turn the sheet into a table base with four formed legs. A sheet of glass is then placed on top.



			This is an image of Blondie spread across six plates. I liked how when used seperately the are plates with an abstract pattern but when combined reveal the full image.



			This is a light made from 2000 guitar plectrums.



			Mick Rock took a famous photo of the band Queen standing infront of a mirror. A outline was taken directly from the photo and water cut out of mirror. If looking closely at the photo it is possible to see the hair and fingers of a man holding up the mirror from behind, these were included in the cut mirror.




			This was a bench made using Mick Rocks image of Blondie.



			There was a photo Mick had taken of cocaine. We put it on a table cloth as that seemed a suitable place.
